Hello,

I have just moved into a house which has a Mitel Controller HX fitted to manage the phone lines.

The previous owners provided me with login details and the admin passwords. However, I have connected the device to my network and can't connect to it, getting the error "ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH"

Is anyone familiar with these products and can give me some pointers?

Many thanks

Ben

Do a google search on your error message and you'll get the info you require.

Make sure the date and time are correct on both devices (PC / Phone system) is the first thing to check but basically the phone system could be using an outdated version of SSL so may need a software/firmware update or you need to alter your browser settings to allow it to connect to insecure sites.

Cheers,
Dougie.

My initial thoughts would be that it is using an old cipher version and the browser is configured not to allow it.

What browser are you trying? If Chrome then try something else, Chrome is very strict and annoying at not letting you past some stuff.

Also try removing the https:// off the front of the URL, it may be a plain http page but some weirdness is causing issues.

Agree, early TLS version got deprecated and Chrome doesn't even let you bypass any more.

Assuming you don't have an old machine with Internet Explorer knocking about, download Firefox, run about:config, change security.tls.version.enable-deprecated to True. Should connect then.

Brilliant. That worked I can now log in.

Next problem is I can only log in to existing user accounts and I want to be the admin! I suspect this is well locked down and I am going to have to pay a person to sort it.....
