Radical has revealed a host of new features for its SR3 and SR10 XXR models for the 2025 season. Focusing on personalisation (don’t want a race car that looks like everybody else’s), safety, reliability and performance, the updates aim to ‘further enhance the ownership experience of the world’s best-selling purpose-built race cars.’
We’ll start with performance, this being a motorsport product and all. The changes look modest but promise significant changes on track, including a lighter flywheel and clutch to make throttle blipping on downchanges easier - therefore reducing the risk of locking up on approach to a corner. There’s also a change in the steering ratio, from 1:43:1 to 1:71:1, which should reduce driver fatigue because less effort is required to turn. Radical has even gone so far as to adjust the radius of the sidepods on the SR10 XXR, which should reduce understeer in high-speed turns. Marginal gains then - an untouched 2024 car will still be very fast - but every little helps in the heat of battle.
On the reliability front, Radical says the new bellhousing is less prone to cracking, and the carbon front splitter can withstand more kerb clubbing than before. The inside of both Radicals gets a new carbon seat, stronger and lighter than the old GRP chair, with the option of having it on the left, right, or middle. Two seats can still be specced for those owners that like scaring their friends (or want some tuition), the second one now benefitting from stronger mounts and brackets.
The eagle-eyed might have noticed the harnesses in this sea of green - the personalisation drive now includes four colour options for the over-the-shoulder belts. Additionally buyers can get bespoke paint, colour-coded Braid wheels and liveries. This one is Daytona Green, for those interested, and has every single option box ticked to show off what’s possible for the next season. Interested racers can upgrade their SR3 XXR or SR10 XXR now, which means 2024 pricing rather than whatever it might cost next year. Nothing to beat the winter blues like getting the race car ready for spring.
