So the cat’s out the bag, as it were. If you happened to listen to last Monday’s episode of Smith and Sniff, you may have heard a new segment where Jonny Smith and Richard Porter talked about a couple of cars that caught their eye on PistonHeads Auctions. And you’ll be hearing a lot more of that over the coming months, as we’ve teamed up with the chaps behind one of the UK’s leading motoring podcasts to occasionally bang the PH drum (or should that be gavel?).
Why we’ve chosen to put our eggs in the Smith and Sniff basket shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, not only because they’ve topped the charts more times than Calvin Harris (of the podcast variety, obviously, though the badgering for a Porter-produced PH jingle continues), but because Jonny and Richard are cut from the same cloth as the rest of us on this here forum. Plus, they’ve brought up PH classified listings on their own volition, without the incentive of a stuffed brown envelope sent their way, so it only seemed right we make it official.
They’ve got quite a bit in store for us, too. Every other week, the two will each choose a car from PH Auctions and explain why it’s grabbed their attention. The best bit is, Richard has (somewhat bravely) opened up a dedicated Smith and Sniff thread on the forums so that you can say which one of them has made the better choice. That’s what it’s intended for, anyway, but there’s a high chance it descends into hilarious nonsense come Christmas.
So, on that side of things, be sure to subscribe (if you haven’t done so already) to the Smith and Sniff podcast to stay up to date with what’s to come over the next few months. But, also, because it’s an hour of comedy gold that’ll have you laughing like a maniac in the middle of a Sainsbury’s cereal aisle.
