TVR Insurance, Latest Quotes.

Spent the last few days on the phone and got what I thought was a reasonable quote. As the best/cheapest/favourite broker or insurer seems to change I thought I'd share my findings and perhaps save some of you a bit of time.

Quotes below are for a 49 year old bloke, plus wife, on a MkI Tuscan 4.3. No convictions, one claim just over three years ago when I aquaplaned my Chimaera across a flooded dual carriageway into the scenery. East Herts, parked on the drive, SD&P plus commuting, fully comprehensive.

£658.00. £350 excess, 7000 miles per annum, includes trackdays (excess £1550) and european cover.

£571.71. 5000 miles per annum, excess £350, includes six track days.


Mannings (brokers), underwriters Summit at Lloyds. 01491 578759.
£636.68 5000 miles per annum, £759.64 7000 miles. Excess £550.

£700, 5000 miles per annum. Excess £350.

Saved the best until last.........

Without exception everyone I spoke to was a pleasure to deal with, much better than surfing the web for quotes. So good in fact that I'll be transferring our other policies to them as they renew.

Try Classic Line.
I'm more than happy with mine for a V8S after a referral from Richard at RT Racing.

Try RH insurance. Really helpful and very good prices if it is a second car. Decent people to deal with as well, at least for the 8 years I have been with them.

I went down the list of the Brokers you reccomended and managed to get my Tuscan insured for £400 by Need to Insure. I was stunned as my insurance company had quoted £1500 for a renewal.

I though this was an absolute bargain.

As mentioned in my other thread - Manning came in cheapest for me, closely followed by Henderson Taylor for my slightly modded Chim 500.

Both these quotes were less than half of my renewal quote from the popular performance car insurers usually mentioned on here.
