After wearing my current lid nearly everyday for a year, come rain or shine, its starting to look and smell a little second hand! it was about 5 years anyway so I doubt it would have been particularly helpful in an accident anyway.
So I am on the look out for a new one, budget of around £70. Any recommendations?

Fox Flux, but try a few different makes, some suit oval heads whilst others seem to fit round ones. Most are pretty adjustable though, at that price.
Another +1 for the Fox Flux. I had a cheaper bell helmet before, which is way less comfortable. However, I'd also second the comment by Handafanatic; try before you buy. Head shape and size is tricky to guestimate and you may find other brands suit your bonce far better. IMHO, most of the better known brands in the price range will be producing decent kit; there's no real duffers.
I looked at a Catlike Whisper a couple of weeks ago. I love the styling but it seemed quite heavy and I seemed to be between a medium and a small, with neither fitting perfectly. Shame, as I really wanted one.
This is definitely one to try before you buy.
I know I am a medium in a Giro so was happy to order my new one on line.
For mtb riding I have the Boardman helmet, which is also very good. I have been using this for my road work but fancied a PTS.
