Caught the first one of these on Discovery Turbo last night, and oh my word if you love cars, then you'll love this series by the look of it.

Alain De Cadenet explains classic race cars, and the first one was Maserati. Great camera work, good commentary and sounds to die for, as he bombs around in priceless Italian machinery in lovely locations.

I think he covers Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Lotus, Jaguar and American muscle cars, plus F1 greats in this series.

Great stuff. cool

If its what I think it is they're great shows. A few years old now, I used to have the Ferrari and Aston ones on my PC. But they're lost/deleted because I can't find them anymore. Well worth watching.

Caught part of it this afternoon - at last a presenter who knows what he's talking about, utterly brilliant.

I have the Ferrari one on DVD, some absolutely stunning machinery, great that you get to hear them properly too.

Does anyone know what order these are being shown in i.e. is it an episode for each marque?

Would be really keen to know when the Lotus one is on.

Not sure what the order is, but it's on each night at 8.00 on Discovery Turbo till at least next Wednesday according to my planner. So far it's been Maserati & Alfa, but not sure of the order or when the Lotus one is, as it doesn't say which marque is covered on Sky+ which is a bit annoying.

I know he drives in the California hills and at Laguna Seca but does anyone know where the UK location is around the lake that is used often?

Best job in the world. smile

Ps. Anyone else finding themselves turning the sound up then having to quickly turn it back down for the adverts. Not just to hear the engines nice and loud but Alain is also a bit quiet too.

I too was thinking about the agreeable location as AdC was sliding the Jags about.

The wikipedia page for the show suggests the lakeside 'track' is at Sir Anthony Bamford's Gloucestershire gaff.

Caught this by chance the other week now working my way through the whole series. Quite possibly the best motoring show I've ever seen on TV.
