Shock and Fork repair/ tuning

My forks are playing up ( de-compress if pumped up to less than about 150psi). They are 2010 Fox Talas 140's with the FIT cartrige. The shock (RP23 BoostValve) also needs a service.

Who can sort out my suspension? Can this sort of suspension be "tuned"?

TFtuned or mojo, both have 2-3 weeks waiting time and will cost £200+ for both. TFtuned do custom PUSH tuning which I used on a fox DHX5 coil shock, it was much better than standard.

A simple oil change could be all you need in my experience. You can see how it's done via Youtube, but basically as follows:

1.Carefully undo grub screw holding adjuster knob on bottom of fork, and remove.
2.Undo the hexagonal nuts at the bottom of both legs.Don't lose the washers.
3.Carefully tap exposed rods back into fork lowers so the holes are clear
4.Let oil drain out
5.Refill with correct oil (For my 2008 TALAS this was 10cc in air leg and 160cc in damping leg).
6.Replace washers, nuts, adjuster knob.

You can get further into this by completely removing the lowers, then removing and lubing the wiper seals with Fox Fluid.

This cured my limp forks. Haven't tried servicing the RP23 yet, but there will be a guide on U-tube.

TF or Mojo really are your best options if you don't want to do it yourself.

Give them a ring but bear in mind this is peak season for them: everyone's getting their bikes ready for holidays in France about now.

Mojo were flat out about a month back but got my Talas 36's turned around in a day-and-a-half.

They're pretty local to me so I just rock up to the counter which might help with times.

I booked mine in with TF and yes it was 2 weeks away but I sent them the day before and they arrived back 2 days later. Give them a ring!

I read that Fox is producing a 1 piece titanium crown and steerer. While they are away is it worth getting one fitted?

Just got my talas rlc's back for TF today,full service,new wiper seals,modified cartridge and all set up for my riding style and weight with full written report.

Four days £108 Just like new forks!

Not sure they're even available yet, and there's no suggestion it'll be retrofittable necessarily (probs will though)

TBH I wouldn't bother, it'll cost a fortune and you may as well just flog your existing forks and pick up the Ti forks later in the year if you're that bothered.

there is a reason that TFtuned have a 2-3 week delay and its not because they are lazy....

Pretty sure they are not "lazy" but I am sure that I am impatient and 2 weeks without the bike will drive me insane!
