Speedo on my C3 Vette is hilariously inaccurate, so I thought I'll get myself a satnav, mount the holder in front of it and then use the nav as a speedo. But I don't want to faffle with connecting it to a charger every time. So which nav units are charger by their holders? So I can just slide/clip the nav in and unclip it easily when I want it out?

Nuvi 3790T Garmin is powered via cradle only - and an absolute joy to navigate with - very slim and precise. I also use it on my Suzuki bike in a ram mount cradle. Go buy one!

Sometimes I rest my HTC Desire, with the Speedview app, in front of my Beemers speedo. You can have digital or clock and it works via the GPS. Also does 0-60 times as well and it keeps a graph of your speed throughout your journey.
