FinePix S5000

Looking around for a decent camera at the moment and spotted the S5000 for £210 on Ebuyer. Does anyone have one or have played with one?

10X Optical Zoom would be cracking for what I have in mind and the ability to alter settings quickly via wheels on the camera rather than going through the software menu means I've got to be looking at an SLR typre camera rather than something smaller.

I have had the s5000 for about a year and it is a dame good camera. It is not quite a SLR but it is almost, plus you do nto have the hassle of extra bits to carry around.
A friend in work asked the same question and brought one to go to Florida, she was very very happy with the extra quality for not a lot extra size and cost that a compact.

Think www.7dayshop.com have a special on at the moment for £190. I have one as well and am very very pleased with it. Remeber as with any camera you will have to add the cost of a couple of memory cards and spare batteries to the total to get decent use from it!
