uk2.net are very cheap, on the face of it, but EVERYTHING is an optional cost option. By the time you tick the boxes for it to be anywhere useable it is very expensive.
I used them in the early days and very soon discovered their limitations. Bannered forwarding (unless you paid extra), restricted email forwarding (unless you paid extra), no access to DNS, very poor hosting (if you upgraded) with little more than a filestore (no CGI, no stats unless you paid extra, etc).
Eventually I read that they were actually a reseller for joker.com for domain registrations. By creating an account with joker.com you could subvert uk2.net by taking over the adminsitration of the domain yourself.
I went on to use joker.com for years because, unlike uk2.net, they were actually very good. Only downside is that they don't do .uk domains, only .com, .net, etc.
In the last couple of years I've started using 123-reg.co.uk for my .uk domains. They also give a lot of control over the domain and also some good features like highly configurable web and email forwarding.
Finally, Jamie has been good enough to let me demo his facilities at http://register1.net and I can confirm that these seem very good too.
So, in a nutshell, don't touch uk2.net even though they seem very cheap, because they are not.

I've been using www.easily.co.uk for years now. No problems at all, and very fast support response when required.
If you need webspace too go for www.bluehost.com since the domain registration will be free.
You'll get 1GB of webspace, 50GB of monthly bandwidth and loads of extras. All for $6.95 a month.

We use 123reg for all out domain name stuff, we've probably got about 50 names on them some pointing to shared servers, some to webspace and some to our own dedicated boxes.
Piece of poo to manage the name
