Photoshop favour - remove someone

I took this photo of my daughter today (we'll overlook the fact it's a JPG and not in RAW) - I like it, but there was a boy in the shot:



I also took this one without the boy, but without the smile:



I've tried to blend it, but I've failed - my photoshop skills have failed me. Can someone help?
