What 3D camera?

My girlfriend is slightly obsessed with 3D . Bought herself a SONY 3D TV, blu-ray player etc and now wants a camera to start taking 3D pictures.

Anyone has any experience with single lens cameras offering 3D photos?

What's the difference between them and the dual lens camera like:
