PC screen or TV for xbox.

Started this thread in computer,gadgets and stuff but may get more help here.

Having a move around in the house and i have cleared some space in the spare room to put the xbox in.
Question is should i get a TV or PC monitor as it will only be used for xbox.
Don't have a set budget as i really don't know what to get.
Xbox has lots of movies and music as well as the games so it can be used by guests.
Any help gratefully received.

I can also use it as a second monitor. What connections does the Xbox have?

I run my Xbox through a Dell 22" Widescreen monitor, you will have to get one of these leads and set up some external speakers (or Turtlebeachs) and you have a good set up.

Just bought the lead yesterday as i thought about putting the xbox alonside the home pc but then moved it to the spare room and think a monitor might be the better/cheaper route.

I use a Dell 22" monitor which has VGA, DVI and more iportantly an HDMI port.
The built in speakers are not brilliant but the monitor has an audio out jack to connect external speakers.
Its the Dell ST220

Think a tv will get little use for the money and not as portable as i would like, as i change the room around for different guests(access reasons).

As other have said I'd also be inclined to spend a little extra (eg a hundred) on a bigger 32" tv
At least you can watch tv on it. One day it may come in handy
Bigger screen and better contrast ratio (60000:1 v 10000:1. Which should help pick people out easier in say a war game with dark places/maps)
Plus has (probably bassless) speakers so you don't have to go noisy late at night via amp/decent speakers
Monitors do give good value, but I would rather a tv personally

Edit to add; it's portable enough too (light). My mrs has that one on her dealership. The bigger ones kept getting nicked! (broken into about 3 times over and over for the replacement tv!) so they bought that 32" and it's now taken off the wall and popped in a locked boot! The mrs gets it on/off the wall all the time no bother. Weighs f a. The tv isn't bothered by the constant moving about either (no faults) and being placed face down each eve. Nice pic too.
