This won't be contemporaneous for long, but the M3 is currently down to 1 lane northbound between 7 & 6.

There is traffic chaos way past J7 heading north.

Why? Well it seems that a cabin dragger came a cropper.. not enough people rubbernecking on southbound carriageway for me to get a good assessment , but the shedpullers are now missing a shed.

To said shed puller:

To people stuck on M3 - well I hope this renews your disdain for people who go on holiday in a veneered portaloo!

They were dragging the shed onto a flat back when I went past, so I'd guess the lanes will re-open at about 16:30 ish..

10 shed pullers getting in me way
10 shed pullers getting in me way
but if one shed puller should accidentally stray..
9 shed pullers, getting in me way.. etc..

hahahahaha.

At least the traffic police in attendance will have somewhere to crap when they get bored.

Brilliant, 1 shed down, too many to go.

Easy Fix for Sheds!

When they are parked up, throw a chain around the axle, then round a nice solid object like..... a volvo! then when the shed gets pulled away, CRACK!

8 Shed pullers getting in me way......

Whilst I agree with the general sentiments about shed draggers, and normally laugh like a drain when I see bits of Fibreglass and melamine strewn up the road, I was caught up in the 'Jam' caused by this one and it looked a bit nasty. Arrived shortly after it had happened I guess as Police and Fire Brigade were in attendance, but no ambulance. Said shed was being dragged by an MPV of some sort and both vehicles? were inverted with one or more of the occupants on stretchers being attended by paramedics from Fire Brigade.

The 'shed' looked disproportionately large for the tow vehicle, and as this was on the long downhill stretch Northbound from Basingstoke, I would guess that they had the tail wagging the dog, and didn't know how to correct it. Max tow weights and compulsory HGV tests for caravaners maybe?

Anyway it buggered up my trip back from Holland, but probably not as much as it buggered theirs!

BTW I wasn't rubbernecking - just stationary in the middle lane alongside it whilst the Police moved one of the their Cars off the Southbound carriageway.

Cheers

Graham

Thats reminded me of when we had a WheelieShed as a kid. On the dual carriage way going to Angelsey the bloody thing decided to impersonate a dog's tail and after smashing up both sides of the car, the barrier and its own contents the shed landed on its roof and slid along the road It was a bit of a mess: fibreglass everywhere, triangular shaped box instead of a square one and a knacked Sierra estate. Apologies to anyone caught up in the 10 mile tail back on that bank holiday weekend Apparently the crash was caused by a stong side wind...so they put up a sign warning of side winds. Phew we're all safe then...

5 shedpullers getting in my way...

Matt - I trust you will not be repeating your parents' erroneous outhouse-haulage?

Don't worry! I shan't be wasting cash on anything a useless as a WheelieShed. It's all going in the high interest TVR shaped piggy bank

This is extraordinary. OK, on the crest of the "stolen baby" wave sweeping over us right now, but I'm certain there's more to this. How the hell can you step outside of your chat for a ciggie, only to have the thing nicked ? I just don't understand

On a lighter note, nice to see the hacks jump on the bandwagon yesterday. In the wake of a baby being removed from a hospital in the Midlands yesterday, Radio 5 Live saw fit to send in a couple of hacks into some nominated hospitals to have a crack at getting into the maternity wards unhindered and unchallenged. Some did, some didn't.
IMO this backfired, a meaningless publicity stunt that just served to notify all the pervs and nutters listening in that you can blag a nipper from these places if you're careful. Or not so careful, as the case may be.

I look forward to some of their upcoming, and more ambitious stunts in the near future, notably:

i) We try and sneak into Buck House and sit on the Queen's bed;
ii) How to break into a Ford Focus - we show you how;
iii) How to turn your pet into a suicide bomber using commercially available fertiliser and bicycle saddle bags

on the subject of towing, i will be towing a trailer with my kart on for the first time soon having normally folded the rear seats down and used the boot.
So does anyone have any advice for a would-be first time tower other than go slow!?

Had a wheel come off a trailer I was towing once, as I came over the top of the Dartford bridge - it went straight thru the tolls with out paying!!! (and it didn't hit anyhting except me as it rolled past) Scary at the time, but makes me chuckle now to remember it.

If it is a small trailer watch out for bumps, they can take off at very low speeds, if it is a big trailer watch out for corner cutting.
