about:blank redirection

I keep getting a search page redirection when I open a new blank IE window. I've got up to date and run AdAware, SpyBot, Norton and Spysweeper. i've run CWShredder but have been unable to update it for a few weeks. I've got HijackThis as well so can post the results of a scan if anyone thinks they will be useful. Anyone got any ideas what I can do? It's driving me mad!

At the risk of sounding obvious..

have you checked your homepage? (right click on icon and properties)

Yeah, after setting it to anything at all then reboot and its back to about:blank but with a search page and annoying pop ups.

Which OS are you got?

Close all browser windows
Go back to properties and change it to say pistonheads
Click apply and exit
open 1 browser window, you should go straight to pistonheads. Do you?
Have you downloaded additional toolbars. These can be too much at times
Go to add/remove programs; anything about toolbars in there? if yes remove and ensure your home page settings are what you want afterwards

Ok,i've found a newer version of CWShredder. It's removed something called CWS.Searchx. This works and my homepage stays as I want it until it is rebooted then the popups return until I use CWShredder again. So its a partial fix but not totally because there is obviously something still there!
