No power to CD Changer in Chimaera

OK, OK - so i should be happy with the exhaust soundtrack, and i am... however, i want to fix this little irritation. Is there an in-line fuse hiding somewhere that i can't find?
There is nothing obvious with the connections at either end, and all fuses in the main box are ok.

Don't think so the head unit will supply the power to the disk changer

Mine also play up. it will play for a while then it stops.
The radio still works. removing the front panel from the head unit and replacing it sometimes cures it !!!
wiggling the wire into the cd changer usually cures it for a while !!

Does the CD carrier eject from the auto changer, if it does there is power to it !!

Nope, that's how I worked it out Steve. I'll have a fiddle and see what can be done. Tbh it may well be cheaper and easier to get a new head unit with iPod and ditch the CD stacker

Your welcome to try mine if they are the same or at least same plugs !!
There only 2 screws holding mine in

Hi Blues

My CD changer also stopped working recently with no power to the CD changer unit for eject. After tracing the wiring I found an inline fuse between the back of the head unit and the changer. In my case the power wire from the head unit ran thorugh the dash , under the carpet on passenger side (Under Dash), and then to the rear of the car on the passeger side. The fuse was under the passenger side dash carpet but I did have the head unit out at the time.

there is some times an in line fues in the leead that feeds the unit

Evening guys,
Just picked up your thread! I have a 450 chim with boot changer, and mine also plays for about 10 mins then switches off, if left for a couple of hours then it comes back on ! then switches off again after 10 mins. Tried most things including venting it but without fail it stops after 10 mins. If u find a cure i would be interested to know what has been done cheers Rob

Mine does the same thing.
I just open the windows, or take the roof off

I think the head unit overheats !!? it does seem to get hotter than i would expect it to.
The radio still works when the boot changer stops.
I've been meaning to get a new head unit for a while, but there is so many to choose from.
so i just put the V8 track on, loud.
