Just watching the sniveling on Sky News lay into the Tories about the university tuition fees.
Rambling on about saddling our children with debt!

A few facts for you Millipede before you spout further drivel.

a) Labour introduced university fee's
b) Labour bankrupted the country which made these additional fees necessary
c) Labour seem very happy to continue to borrow money at a completely unsustainable rate..... basically saddling our children with debt for years to come.

I just can't believe how much gall this man and his party have.

And yet they command the biggest vote in the opinion polls - the electorate are stupid.

One of the few people who I literally can't sit and listen to, he makes me feel slightly ill.

Others include; Gordon Brown, Neil Kinnock, Anne Widdicombe, and bizarrely, JFK.

Needs a fking good blow of his nose if you ask me.

Not that I am leftie or anything but were tuition fees not introduced by the Tories prior to 1997 but came into effect after and Lieber promised to get rid of them but never did.

I was quite young at the time so I might be a bit off.

JFK yikes no wonder sitting and listening to him makes you slightly ill.....he's been dead for a few years so I imagine he smells a bit by now.

Just looked it up. The Tories had a report created which recommended fees in 1996 but they were implemented in 1998.

It's terrifying to think he could well be the next Prime Minister.

I am no economist or indeed politician but isn't the generally accepted thing that no matter what we do and who is in power the debt will increase but that in the argument of blue/yellow vs red that the blues/yellows increase it less than the reds?

They were discussed prior to 1997 but no Bill passed, but were voted in by the Labour Government.

Who are trying to reduce the deficit created by Labour.

This will take some time and whilst there is a residual deficit then obviously the debt will increase.

The tories only hope for winning the next election is for maggie to snuff it and then the thick might stop voting against her.

But even if she is dead people will still vote labour to stop her winning the election

Come on folks, relax!

The debt's not going anywhere.

Currently north of 4.8 TRILLION and each year around 170 Billion is added.

biggrin

ps. The Debt was something like 380 Billion when Labour came to power, what an awesome 13 year spunkfest that was!

If only we could bin the NHS, we could pay our debt of in a mere 50 years or so. frown
