So I'm riding home tonight get the last major roundabout before home (only 2 or mins away basically) and the bike dies. No power, not a sausage. Thanks to the chap on the R1 that stopped to help and stayed with me at the road side for an initial look over the bike. Thanks also to the chap on the triumph who checked I was ok as I wheeled the old girl to a safer place to wait for the AA. Aren't bikers lovely people ....
Anyway, I digress. The alarm/immobilser has power and where normally the fob cannot be used to set the alarm when the ignition is on, now it can and unsurprisingly the ignition light does not come on. Sometimes I can hear what I guess is a relay within the alarm unit clicking repeatedly when I turn the ignition key. Othertimes nothing. When I was finally dropped off at home, the ignition light finally came on, only to fade to nothing again as the engine caught and the vibration from the engine started. I guess it's some kind of loose connection, bad earth or some such electrical gremlin, but any pointers would be very much appreciated.
All the best,
Steve.
