2004 Mini - rear wash wipe gone bonkers?

My 2004 MINI rear wash wipe system has started failing.

The wash sprays all over the place - nearly following the wiper and also the wiper does not park in the correct place all the time.

Any ideas?

washer could be blocked up so may need a clean and re-align with a needle. Also there is a chance that the motor may be failing and may need replacing many people remove them so there should be a few around on some mini forums.

I've seen a few (not R56) Minis with wiper removed but to me it looks naff with a rubber bung stuck in the hole left in the screen.

Plus, in really crap weather the rear screen can become covered - wiper, albeit small, absolutely essential imo.

There is a section on Total Mini devoted to removing the wiper, but as said not my cup o' tea.
