Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. My PC's old hard disk was 'damaged' and reformatting didn't solve it. Now I've got a new one - to save making any mistakes, does anyone know of any step-by-step guides online or clear instructions as regards installing, formatting etc.

Thanks a lot

What O/S are you using?
If XP you needn't do it at all, XP can handle this for you.
If you want different partitions you could either do this with a 98 startup disk, or use something like partition magic.
Either way, let us know what you want to do with this, and what O/S you will be using.

Thanks for replying. Its Windows 2000, but when I tried to reboot from a '98 Boot disk it created a partition that was 21MG !??

I suggest you boot from your Win2K CD and follow the install instructions.
You may need to enter the BIOS to tell the PC to boot from the CD drive.
