TSA to improve the screening process for low risk passengers
Discussion
I have to be honest, I dont see anything particularly wrong with what she is doing and how she is doing it. Seems to be doing it very carefully, explaining what she's doing too. Little girl does nto seem upset by it in that video. What's the problem?
if parents dont want to have their kids "patted down" be more careful about takign stuff of them that will set off the detectors, or take the bus.

Sounds reasonable to me.if parents dont want to have their kids "patted down" be more careful about takign stuff of them that will set off the detectors, or take the bus.
And guess what terrorists will start doing if they know children dont get searched.
As someone who flies within the US all the time (due to work) some of my experiences with TSA employees has caused me to bite my tongue, due to how irritating the experience of pre-flight security can be.
However and as already stated, anything and everything we need to put up with to minimize the risks posed by maniacs has to be tolerated in my view. If you want to travel by air, that's the way it is.
If they are courteous and professional, I sometimes surprise them with a, "Thanks for keeping us as safe as you can", which, I think, is very much appreciated by some of them. The Neanerthals, I just ignore. They have a pretty awful, unrewarding job, it has to be said.
I use Clear, www.clearme.com from my home airport and although it doesn't allow me to avoid interaction with the TSA, it is a much, much faster and usually less intrusive encounter.

Really? Despite there being plenty of evidence that fixed/predictable patterns of security just give terry the terrorist an easy target to sidestep? Nothing to do with making it look like they're doing something? A cynic might suggest it's just a bloated welfare system for unskilled workers. However and as already stated, anything and everything we need to put up with to minimize the risks posed by maniacs has to be tolerated in my view. I don't for one minute suggest that TSA screening is a panacea - but it is a line of defence that wasn't there previously, so in my view, any initiative (a word not usually associated with TSA) that makes things more difficult for loonies, is good, as far as I'm concerned.I think that if the current security measures were very easily breachable, we'd have suffered another hit by now. I get the impression that the USA's popularity on the world stage hasn't improved much in the last ten years.

You think it would be perfectly acceptable to everyone to have a full cavity search to keep you safe?I'd happily have the risk of being blown up multiplied by ten if it meant we could get rid of all these security t
ts at airports.Terrorists are winning

I don't think that a 'full cavity search' would be a practical option, do you?Eliminating risk is all but impossible. Reducing risk is difficult and involves compromises, I think.
Stating that you'd rather sustantially increase the risk of bloody dismemberment of large numbers of innocents in order to remove an inconvenience, is difficult for me to agree with - but you are equally entitled to your opinion.

The TSA are pure theatre, they have never caught a "terrorist". There are a hell of a lot of bad apples too. Lots of hatred toward the TSA from frequent US and other flyers here, and some quite mind-boggling stories of bullying and incompetence.
Jesus, do you honestly believe it's the TSA's remit to 'catch terrorists'?Matt Harper said:

I think the US missed the boat on that by 10 years. Maybe they could fight terrorism by not sticking their oar in around the world like they have ever since WWII in the first place.Matt Harper said:

EFA
Of course the tin foil hat brigade will tell you it's just to make you feel there's still a threat so they can control you better but tbh I just think the politicians haven't worked out how to tell us it's pointless without looking like the idiots they are.

Anyone see that video of Pakistani kids simulating suicide bombings? I have no problem with what she's doing...
I'm pretty sure that 6yr old white American girl isn't Pakistani. The only reason they searched the child is not because they think she was smuggling 16lbs of high explosives in her shoes but because they have to, to show that they aren't being prejudiced against certain people. By searching everyone they seen as being "fair" everyone is searched so they cannot be sued for being prejudiced, until Mrs White Anti-Paedo-America decides to take offence when she sees her 6yr old being groped in public. You can be in no doubt though that the will be a lot more thorough searching their normally assigned threat list people, the particular demograph they have been told and taught to look out for at the airport.
