Last week at Oulton park some of the final 16 FW racers were testing in their race prepared RX8's.

Guess what? A final 50 eliminee was also testing in her road standard RX8.

How could this eliminee pass one of the "best 16" fair & square on track?? She did... poses the question in my book ??

I do not need any further evidence!

As for Glew saying the lap times have nothing between them...... No.. there is 4 seconds between some of them.

I notice the forum, for which I paid £35 to be a member of has been closed. Seems they are worried what other home truths will come out to upset the applecart.

I think the old series are the best! The TVR Tuscan Challenge is now 15 years old and still provides great racing. We are at Knockhill this weekend. It is also cost effective and the cars are all British!

Paid £35 to join a forum! Pistonheads is FREE! Dave supplies tea and biscuits at TVR and GT races. There is a terrific range of "Pistonheads" gear and lots of other things besides!

to be fair if you put two people in a car that neither of them have driven before, give them minimal tuition and training and they get within four seconds of each other at a circuit as technical as Outlon Park, I say thats not too bad.

as for the eliminee overtaking a competitor, perhaps someone had a point to prove and the red mist settled?, was the competitor driving to minimise risk damage to the car and not do anything stupid prior to the start of the season? tyres? fuel load?...... too many factors to argue this one i'm afraid!

Hi Darren,

I think it might be an idea to end this thread as well. Just read Motorsport News and Autosport; spoke to the Club editor of Motorsport News and asked him why they were printing wild stories when there is nothing about the Tuscans!

Hopefully this sorry state of affairs will soon come to an end and women can take part in real racing.

;} Oh Please Pablo.. Darren??
I am a competative female [competative is in my blood] race or track day I must give 100%. Any person with a competative spirit would!

My experience of a track day is to improve my driving, even if I was taking it "easy" "team instuctions!" I would do my utmost to prevent anyone passing me. {especially a reject} come on!!??
NO OFFENCE PAM JUST PRAISE WHERE ITS DUE!!

I wonder who you are speaking for Darren? Must be one of those chosen few!!

sorry Pablo Darren..

Missed the first part of your message..must have been the red mist you talk about!

This 4 second lap time difference.....

I am now talking racers!!
16 girls chosen from over 8000 applicants on driving ability. Most of the "chosen few" have come from racing relatives and or lots of cash. Most of the girls could have paid for lots of tuition, although, given some of their backgrounds could have been tutored for free. Come on, we are talking about the best 16 of over 8000! 4 seconds is OTT, 2-21/2 seconds perhaps. They are driving identically prepared cars after all. In my book that 4 second difference proves that either the other 7984 were poor standard drivers or we have been had on & the selection process was not really based on driver ability....more the profile of a person who can attract media attention to FW & bring sponsors for one reason or another!

I think this further endorses the reality of a genius money making scheme that may have worked[if everyone was as convinced of its integrity as you are]

I am not being rude, just stating my honest opinion based on factual information.

If you or your "competator" friend prove me & many others wrong, I will be first to come & apologise to you! Honest!

hope you have a good weekend. Regards Naughty!

naughty but nice,

some points.

a quick look in my profile would see that
i am not called darren.

its "competitive" not "competative"

i still maintain that four seconds difference between sixteen drivers is not bad. lets not forget it has already been stated that the competitors got minimal training and tracktime and as I said, Oulton Park is a challenging circuit.

Are you competing in Formula Woman? if so I imagine from the tone of your posts that you are somewhere near the top of those timesheets? Good for you. If you are an experienced trackday driver though, you must acknowledge the fact that you have a slight advantage over some of the other competitors!.

Anyway, I have lost all interest in Formula Woman before the championship has even started. Good luck to all competing.

Oh an ineresting thread but as always my eyes are drawn straight away to the mention of biscuits Will there be a ready supply at Oulton and Silverstone GT rounds

As for FW, I still remain in the camp that firmly worries it could do more harm than good if it ends up being peddled out as little more than another reality tv show.

I wouldn't say "most" of the girls have come from racing backgrounds, that is wrong. A couple have "connections" but that's about it.

Indeed - Philip Glew's racing future is secured if Formula Woman keep raking the money in like they are currently, from gullible girls who just want to race cars. It's sad but true, and many girls will be left feeling very angry about this whole "competition", as the Official Formula Woman forum is starting to show.

I noticed Amy Chambers made her debut in the Ginetta series. Wasn't she one of the final 50? I have also heard that she may be the only girl to get a race! Perhaps the G20 racers here, can tell us more.
