Bluetooth help on COMAND please

Help – I’m confused!

I have a 2004 (facelift) CLK55 and it has a COMAND system. It has Bluetooth as an option on the COMAND, so I have been trying to connect my Blackberry 9300 to it. I’ve followed the instruction in the manual and seem to be able to pair the phone and COMAND. However, whatever I then tried, I couldn’t get the COMAND to connect to the Blackberry. I tried typing in a code in both devices, the COMAND screen would say “connected” for a second, but then flick straight back to “not connected”. I’ve also tried the whole set up with a Motorola and this comes up with exactly the same result.

So I guess the question is, am I doing something wrong or is it likely that there’s a fault on the Bluetooth on COMAND.

If the Bluetooth is at fault here, has anyone tried one of these:

Alternatively, I could get a cradle for the Blackberry, but the only ones I could find on ebay were for 8300 and 8100 series.

I really would appreciate any advice.

The item in your link is for cars that had the built in cradle in the centre armrest, designed to take the Nokia 6110/6210/6310 . It emulates the Nokia handset to fool the carkit in to thinking it has the Nokia handset. I had one in my early 2003 CL, but went back to a 6110 for better sound quality (a world of difference!).

If your car has already got bluetooth, I wouldn't expect it to have this Nokia cradle system, although I'm happy to be corrected!

I've mentioned them before on here, but maybe you could drop http://www.comandonline.co.uk/home.php a line and see if they have any advice? They seem to know their stuff when it comes to COMAND ....

My slk55 has a cradle plus bluetooth on command menu also

I do have both the cradle prep in the arm rest and bluetooth on the COMAND. I'll drop an email to the guys at Comand Online and see what they say.
