Have just installed a cruise control system on my VW; it's great for lowering tedium of m-way journeys, keeping to speed limits etc. Nice little mod (genuine retro-fit), bit tricky to install 1st time but having done one I could do another easily.

What would I need if I wanted to do this on a few other peoples cars (as well as my proper job)?

Ltd co? Liability cover of some sort? Would the red tape kill off all the profit?

Cheers,

I imagine liability insurance would be very expensive, unless you were doing lots of them.

I reckon an affordable and good auto-electrician would be in high demand. You can practice on my BMW if you like (as long as you don't make it any worse!)

Being an auto eleccytrician is a lot more involved than installing cruise control on a car less than 10 years old. Come fix the problems on my lancias electrics and youll see what i mean.

Sure, but even Bill Gates started somewhere!

Yeah, and times they are a changing; with the advent of OBD it's gonna become more about knowing how to use the software than looking for dodgy connections.

I'll stick to cruise kits for now.
