Not worth the bad press if he'd done anything remotely luxury. Too many people in the UK would see it as scandalous that someone does well for themselves and chooses to spend their money on something like a private plane or even first class. I can almost see the 'Cameron lives life of luxury while UK suffers cuts' headlines, and the mouth breathers lapping it up.

The consequence of him travelling on ryanair is that the plane he was on would have been on time, well checked out and its history (and that of the crew) well looked into before he even got on it.

Bit of a bonus for any real people on board in terms of security, safety and general efficiancy.

Edited to remove typing dimness and general fat fingerage.

You can hardly claim that "we are all in this together" if you then spend your time on private jets. These pictures are in all the papers because his spin doctors want to show them being ordinary, it is a complete non-story.

Couldn't he have gone with BA? It seems like a stupid publicity stunt.

At least he's making an attempt at 'the all in it together' bit. Beats the hell out of watching Millipede be the warm up comrade for the anti-cuts riots and then watch him slink back to his multi-million pound home.

Oh, come on! It's a stupid, pointlessly see through, cynical ploy. Insultingly cynical.

Why should someone with money make his wife, for her birthday, slum it on Ryan air? Why should the great unwashed expect this? He's the PM and independently wealthy FFS. Going to these extremes just plays into the hands of the trots and UK U C UNT mob and their petty spiteful jealousies and now he and his 'advisers' have played to their rules, for what?

Who of the red critics will actually give him any credit for this - they'll know it's just pandering to a perceived need to give the 'right impression' so it's hardly likely to garner any support for the policies they despise. Pointless.

Jesus wept, what has this fking backward hole of a country come to? Let's all stop listening to the teacher, fail our exams and live on benefits, why aspire to anything if we are too nervous of the lazy, the unlucky and the neer-do-wells to actually use what we earn. banghead

This is what I was going to say.. The Mail & Sun readers are the ones who'd kick up a fuss so putting him on their level makes them feel better about him.

Well - PR is his profession. Does he really think anyone is stupid enough to be impressed?

Fking stupid stunt. Demeans the Office of Prime Minister. We're supposed to be a friggin' world power (or at least pretending we are). Imagine Obama flying Economy on American Airlines.

Even the bloody Commies had their own Zils and private jets.

Don't see the problem myself. Its the latest way of thinking, that MPs are not above us, but rather chosen by us to represent us. They are supposed to be one of us, not some communistical supreme great leader looking down over the peasants.
