Anyone on here experienced with configuring PC's for running Solid Edge V14 ?

I currently have 3 machines running Solid Edge V14. One machine keeps falling over with a "Out of Memory" error when attempting to save a dft file. This is happening whether the design guys are working locally or on the LAN.

The file in question has 6 sheets within one drawing (client specification), and is approx 30MB in size, with the total file size of approx 50MB when the associated 3D models are bought into play for detailing purposes.

One file from our customer is nearer the 60MB mark and that seems to work fine.

The PC has 120GB HDD, 2GB of RAM and a page file of 4GB, Graphics Card are 128MB. OS is XP Pro.

If it was Inventor / MDT we understand their respecive quirks and how to get around them, but Solid Edge is a total mystery.

I have a call in with the Solid Edge dealer who we have hired the software through but have yet to hear back.

Any assistance, much appreciated.

I use it, although not as much nowadays. A colleague of mine was in the development team for solid edge, and ran some of the on site training sessions. If you need it, I can give you a contact - although I'm off to France from early Friday a.m., so may not be able to help personally.

Wrinkly,

A contact would be great - much appreciated.

It looks as if one of the sheets within a dft file was corrupt somewhere. By deleting the dwg view and recreating it, all seems stable at present.

Cheers
