Is it wrong that I've given up on it already?

29 minutes in without a single smile so I'm back to surfing PH.

Liked. Laughed. Quite a lot.

Suspect this will grow, too, as Green Wing got weirder and weirder as the characters developed.

It might help me and Mrs Blade went to Bath Uni where it was filmed as there's a bit of nostalgia value smile

In the meantime, anyone remember "A Very Peculiar Practice"?

Same as me - gave it about half an hour then deleted it from my Sky+ planner.

The Mrs and I were REALLY looking forward to this too, as we were big Green Wing fans but this was just rubbish. Did the Jonty actor just sit down and watch the entire The Office box set then base his act on a slightly more sinister/annoying version of David Brent?

Was Peculiar Practice filmed there also? Recognised some of the architecure, but could not for the life of me remember where I'd seen it - and I've never visited Bath Uni.

It was trying too hard to be Green Wing (with very similar characters and situations) and failed miserably.

No, just a vaguely similar bunch of strange personalities and random stuff (eg the Nuns), also set in a Uni. I loved it smileCampus nudged my memory.

I wish i could find 'A very peculiar practice' - it was great but series one isn't available on DVD and series 2 is £60-odd (and Near Dark is £15.....) from the BBC.

Fond memories of it.

If you have not seen any of the Green wing series - you really should.

It is ROFLOL.

I think its hard to even try to select a best episode as none are weak.

I thought it was good, but with some clear rough edges and some definite character (re)development due. Also some genius moments.
Do think the Vice Chancellor is a bit too Brent, but I think we might be seeing the top of an iceberg and it can go waaaayyyy darker.

But I think once it gets into it's stride, it could really be something to match Green Wing.

I think watching the first episode of Green Wing with no context was equally as weird and WTF!!! as this was.

I disliked Green WIng but wanted to give this a go, completely forgot aboot it, mistook it for that horrible American 80s thing. Is it repeated?

AVPP was filmed at Birmingham Uni whilst I was a student there.
