New Wheels and boots

Finally got my new (refurbished by Steve Edwards) Imolas and new Conti tyres fitted and am pleased with the results.



no more polishing Oz 8 spokes for me... I'm not sure whether to sell them or keep them ?

I just thought I would post a picture of my car for a change instead of the usual pic of a component or obscure view of parts of the car being discussed in a problem thread.

And no jokes about the roof being up either

As you will see in my most recent thread, I've used some more of your advice, in conjunction with Marks, to help me successfully remove the prop shaft yesterday..

Kev, looks good but let me know how you find the Conti's I have them too. Swear by them on the daily driver, good all rounder. Enjoy

Looks great Kev, I do like those wheels on the S Series

I'd keep the 8 spokes unless you were desperate for the £s or space. They are rare now and look what happened to the indicators...

Looking good Kev, what size alloys and tyres are they? I have recently noticed a number of cars with larger alloys and lower profile tyres, to keep the same rolling diameter and wondered how they drive.

thanks all...

they are Continental Premium Contact 2 and 205/60/15 V91 rated all round at a cost of £91.00 per corner. I have only had a short drive (almost said "spin" there ) so no performance reports yet, but they are direct replacement for the same tyres that were on the Oz 8 spokes so I'm expecting they will be as good in the wet/dry/damp as the old ones...

I do like the look of them but the main reason for changing was that I dont like polishing the Oz's (they were bare metal). I will keep the original wheels I think in case when the day comes to sell, if the potential buyer prefers the Oz's I can offer a deal...

I'll let you know how the first couple of thousand miles go...

I know what you mean Kev, brake dust or a little bit of salt and its a lot of elbow grease required.

Mine took a lot of work after the euro trip!

I did think of painting them and I like the black chrome that Longers and others have used, but when these wheels came up, I just bit the bullet.

I dont do elbow grease, and I still have the McGuires stuff I won at SCH09 untouched

Hi Kev, The wheels look really good. I have the same ones on my car, they were already on when I bought it. However, mine have 15's on the front and 16's on the back.

worth a picture as well to see what the rear looks like with the bigger wheels
