Hi, got some Tein Super Streets for my GTO and I need to get one of them repaired - anyone know where this can be done? Cheers.

ETA - Emailed Tein UK and not got a reply yet so thought I'd ask here, sure someone here's had this problem before!

LEDA's are rebuildable, so they have the know-how and they may be able to repair them, if they get the parts.

Based in Crawley I think, and will always answer the phone if you call. Good customer service.

They usually price it so you buy new ones

Cheers all, would really rather repair than replace as it's only one (rear offside) and I'd have to replace the one on the otherside which is fine, seems a waste. I'll give them both a ring on Monday. Does anyone know how hard it would be to repair it myself if I could get hold of the parts - I genuinely don't know how difficult it would be. To give you some idea of my mechanical skills I can do things like cambelts, clutches, replace suspension ect (was a nightmare getting the old ones off on this!).

Firstly it depends if you can open the top of the damper, alot of OE units and aftermarket ones are folded over rather than having a screw top. Even if they do have a screw top once they are a few years old the seize up pretty good! Parts, oil and gas will be a problem to source/replace as well!

Whats actually wrong with them? Leaking or not damping?

At the minute it's just leaking, still working fine (feels fine anyway).

Send them back to Tein - they'll refurbish to current specs. Had one of mine done by them in the past and it was "resonable". They publish their price list on their webbie...well they used to anyways.

Had to have this done on my RX7. Tein UK wouldn't deal directly with me, only a business, which made it even more hastle.

I seem to remember it took about 6 weeks to get them back. Luckily I borrowed a spare set, but if that's not available, the car could be a long time off the road.

I think it worked out around £300-350 for front two fully refurbished to the latest spec.

Frankly not very impressed.

ETA. One of mine was seriously buggered though, so that may have hiked the cost up.

Just rung them and was told it would be "around two hundred pounds" but I need to email them for a quote. Seems a little expensive when they're only about £800 brand new and it can't be totally shot as it's still working fine. I was also told only Tein themselves could do it. A positive is that I only need the broken one repaired and not the passenger side one as well. Wait for the quote I guess.

I was always under the impression you should really do both on the same axle.

May well be wrong though.

I've certainly heard that this is the case when replacing them so you would assume similar would be the case when repairing them. He did say it would be best if you overhauled them both but that it would be fine if only the broken one was done.
