Motorsport Photo Competition
Green Flag on the hunt for the best amateur motorsport photographers
If you think you have what it takes to become a top motorsport photographer, why not submit your work to the scrutiny of a team of experts and get the chance to win cash prizes?
Green Flag, has launched a competition to find the country's best budding amateur motorsport photo-journalists, as part of its sponsorship of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
There are two categories in the competition - junior (under 18 years) and senior (18 years and over). On offer is total of £1,000 in cash prizes plus VIP hospitality at the last race of the season at Donington Park on September 26 and the chance to learn tricks of the trade from a professional motorsport photographer. Two runners-up in each category will each win a pair of tickets to the Donington event.
This is the third successive year that Green Flag has run this popular competition and to celebrate it is presenting an extra challenge for would-be hot-shots. Five pairs of tickets are up for grabs to the last race at Donington plus merchandising for amateur snappers of any age who submit photos to the judges that feature touring car and single-seater racing stars of the future and women who race or work in motorsport behind the scenes.
This year's judging panel is made up of Hillary Williams, Green Flag's marketing director, Jakob Ebrey, motorsport photographer and touring car driver Dan Eaves. The winning photographs and runners up will be displayed on Green Flag's website, dedicated to the company's sponsorship of the BTCC at www.greenflagbtcc.com
. Further details and the rules of the competition are available to view at the website.
I assume the photos have to be based on touring cars and saloon car racing? or can it just be motorsport in general?
**just read the rules and regs, it can be any photo of 4 wheel motorsport as long as the photo is taken in the UK from jan 1st to the close of the comp on september 1st.
that should give me a few chances to get some nice photos!

Yes, you can take pictures of any form of motorsport, but I'd bet at least 20 new pence that all the winners will be pictures of BTCC cars... Can't really see them choosing a spectacular shot of a jumping Porsche GT3 at the 'Ring.
