V6 S gearbox

I have S3c V6clubsports in Japan.
I am thinking of replace its gearbox with Quaife gearbox for Sierra type9.
My normal gearratio is (1st 3.36 2nd 1.81 3rd 3.36 4th 1.00 5th 0.825)
Quaife is (1st 2.040, 2.200, 2.390 2nd 1.540, 1.690 3rd 1.210 4th 1:1
5th 0.870, 0.930)
As you know,there are many thight corner in Japanese country road.
So normal 1st gear is too low,while 2nd is little high.
What gearratio do you better?
You can see my S3c in the TVR magazine as a Japanses S.

I've just read your email, and I'll reply to you later. This is the best place to ask about gear ratios, though, because I don't have any experience of this, so can't answer this question.

Hi, I fitted a "long first gear kit" from G B H Geartech. this raises first gear to 2.83:1, all other ratios stay un-changed.

It is reasonable.
Do you have any advice about input shaft size, or shaft sprine?
And when I replace gearbox,which gasket and seal kit is needed?
2.39 of 1st gear is little high gear for S3 engine?

1st gear in the T9 box is often changed by kit car builders to less than 3. 2,75 is often used.

The input shaft is 1 inch, 23 spline shaft.

I have seen a ClubmanV6 in Osaka several years ago, I was quite surprised, they are very rare in Japan.

I would email Geartech, they are the experts (and very helpful)

If you are buying a complete rebuilt gearbox you should only need the bellhousing to gearbox gasket.

I think 2.39 would be too high. this is possibly for cars running lower final drive ratio's ?
