ITV, not content with killing decent WRC coverage, are it seems more interested in Advertising than the actual race coverage. I'm getting more and more frustrated at the length and frequency of the ITV advert breaks during the broadcast. During this afternoon's race there seemed to be more adverts than racing. It wouldn't be so bad if they at least waited for the 'excitement' of Pit Stops to be over....

Today, it got to the point where I decided to boycott all the products advertised.

It was going pretty well to start, as I can do without the Telegraph, a Honda, a Gilette Razor, Football coverage, HP/Compaq, Sky, IBM, Renault and even the ITV coverage logo if it means removing Jim from the deal (a real bonus). In fact I was very confident I would be able to do without any of the products advertised, right up to the point where Microsoft's 30 seconds came up... Blew the whole thing and it's not as if they have to advertise is it? We don't have a choice and no, I don't understand Linux or know what to do with a Mac. Stuffed completely.

What started as a bit of fun to ease the stress of adverts ended up making things worse. And still I don't get it. Why would any F1 TV fan be interested in the products of a company that ruins the live event? In Germany, when their adverts are on they run a small window in an upper corner of the screen to at least show you what you are missing - why can't ITV do the same?

Rant over,

Dave.

Maybe they are that often that they have to be to wake people up from the drizzle that is the current F1 season!!
I switched off and went to wash the car half way through, sometimes I wish i'd listened to my GF when she wanted to go 'shopping'!.

I had stopped paying much attention during the last 60 laps or so, but didn't the adverts come on during the last laps/race finish too? I noticed the show return and say Shuey had won ...

Microsoft - hey I work for Sun so I can avoid their products :-)

Which shows how little you are interested in F1 - the first 3 or 4 races this year have been excellent. If you don't watch you shouldn't comment. Agree though this one was pants. Rich...
