Looking at a few other Forums, I've noticed that when a new thread is posted, the site not only lets you know how many replies but how many views it's had aswell, IMO it's nice to know how many people are ignoring you don't know whether it's poss. on here (Ted?) or whether anyone else thinks it's a good idea? Thoughts?

Will do. I'm in the middle of database upgrades and stuff at the moment but will include it post upgrade (write contention will go up massively).

Hmm.. could see how they might .. I'm guessing you use a table for threads with a one-to-many relationship to a table of posts? In which case what was once a fairly sedate table (the threads table) gets an extra column containing a hit count for each thread that would need incrementing everytime someone read the thread..

Hope you're going to SQL

There does seem to be increasing activity on the forums now too..

How much has traffic increased in the last few months Ted? (if u don't mind me asking and can be arsed to answer all my nosey questions )

Traffic soared in February to 195,000 unique users. I haven't analysed that in any depth (does get skewed a bit by the widgets). Almost 2 million pages too. I was quite pleased with that.
