Brake pipes/hoses

With the chassis work progressing it's time to look at replacing the bits that are best done with the body off.
I want to replace the rubber brake hoses and pipes, but am struggling to find a supplier who doesn't want me to send the old ones off first. Automec where very helpful and supplied TVR originally, but seem to have lost the spec for the V8s hoses. They were surprised there were 8 hoses on the V8s.. I'm not bothered about going for braided as I prefer to see the condition of the hoses. Any ideas? I've seen references to using M10 fittings, but mine seem to have a tighter thread (can't find my thread gauge anywhere!) I'm going to make the pipes up myself as I have a flaring tool so that bit is straight forward once I know what end fittings to use.

On another note the large diameter fuel hose from the tank is connected to a smaller hose that goes to the fuel pump. It looks as if the smaller hose is just pushed into the larger one rather than using a reducer. Is this normal (TVR normal at any rate!) as it looks bodged to me.

Also talk to Barkychoc as he has a V8 and has replaced all his hoses

Four at front same as V6 S and also four at rear, two chassis to trailing arm and two trailing arm to caliper (this moves, unlike a drum brake)

Thread is M10 x 1.0 (fine) not normal M10.
I did a thread somewhere, I have a book mark to it at home I'll dig it out later.

Beware, TVR are nuts and there are imperial pipe fittings on the v8. All the calipers, master cylinder and bias valve thingy are metric but some of the pipes on the car aren't. I think it was the t-piece at the back that was UNF.

As I rememberise it from when I broke my pump taking it off and had to change it there was the large hose, then a metal reducer then a small hose. It was a bit of a bodge and when I fitted a shiny new bosch 044 I binned all the bodge and just put the right size fittings on the pump

HELL no. There should be a metal reducer. Is it possible there is actually a reducer there and you're missing it because the hoses are butting against each other?

Chris I did search for brake stuff, but didn't go back far enough. Thanks for your help. Pete you may be right I'll take it apart over the weekend and check it out.

Hopefully the chassis will be back in a few weeks so I can start reassembling it all. Picked up the suspension arms and various other bits that have been powder coated the other day so it's getting closer..
