Full accounts at Companies House?

Why would someone's accounts at Companies House only have very brief abbreviated a/c lodged? No P&L or anything; just a short Balance Sheet!

Why would this be?

Or is there an option to NOT file full accounts that I am unaware of?

Your correct in your assumptions. A small Company has the option of filing Full or Abreviated accounts.

It is a small Co and I assume the abbreviated can only include the Balance Sheet and NOT any P&L stuff? i.e. the important numbers (depending on PoV obviously)

Since 1991, small companies have been allowed to file reduced disclsure accounts called "Abbreviated Accounts". Most accountants will take this option when submitting company accounts on behalf of their clients.

The directors would have a full set of the accounts so you could ask them for a copy - depending of course on why you want them and whether they will provide them.

Yep, £6 something million, plus depends on assets and employees
