Fresh Fly Vents...

Inspired by Joe's recent efforts here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... but worried about water ingress, I decided to take action...

Offside connection fits snugly between wing and brake master cylinder.

Offside bonnet connection over-reaches the inner guard to close onto wing connection.

much cleaner lines without the ugly vent pipe, scuffing everything

I dont suppose the design council will be looking me up but I'm pleased with the result. The connections took some lining up and I will probably add a seal later.

One of my little challenges to address too.

Looks like a nice creative approach. I've been pondering how to get the offside pipe to run without getting squished.

Did you think about using some tapered fitting (bits cut from a funnel?) to help align the mating bits?

Sure someone will be along with the high tech solution soon!

The connections are Rangerover dash vent items...

I put a ball in the wing connection and closed down the bonnet and the ball helped align the two connections, fairly well after a bit of fiddling... I could have done with a loan of TVRGIT's Gerbil with a Walkie Talkie to tell me what was going on with the bonnet down

seems to work ok so far anyway... I did a 150 mile commute to work this morning and there was plenty of air coming through...
