Weird. I have an HP 970CXi printer which uses a black cartridge and tricolour cartridge next to it.

I went to print off a black and white photograph (OK, it had been scanned in colour and was in RGB mode, but it was still very much b/w) and it printed out in beautiful RED!

So I converted the image to grayscale and tried again: it still printed out RED. It's as though I've put a red cartridge in where the black should be. Not only is this impossible, but I've changed black cartridges and it prints black text perfectly...

Any ideas what happened? I hope I don't have to re-install drivers 'cos HP drivers are bastards!

Print a test page to determine if the problem is your printer/software or the file you are trying to print from

Assuming the file is OK, you can remove the driver and download the latest one for your OS from the HP site and re-install.

Never had a problem with HP drivers and rate HP printers as the best
