Wife's got a CLK Convertible and we're struggling to get heat to the rear passengers. Even with all front vents closed and heating on HI and fan on max, we still only get a trickle of warmish air out of the rear centre vents. The air that comes out of the front side vents is almost scalding, so why are the centre vents not hotter?

Anyone noticed similar? Anyone tell me theirs is much better?

Thanks in advance.

i'd recommend you take the car to either a Mercedes main dealer or a local Mercedes specialist who use the approved Star Diagnosis system.
It sounds like one of your heater box actuator motor linkages may be broken & by plugging it on the proper diagnostic equipment the AAC system can be checked for faults & the actual values for each heater actuator motor can be checked plus if required an actuated test using the diagnostic equipment can be carried out to ensure everything is working ok.
Just out of interest do you notice any clicking noises from behind the dash when starting the car - if so this usually indicates a broken linkage on the heater box.

Thanks for your feedback. We don't hear any clicking in the dashboard.
Thanks for info re: diagnostics. The dealer will be our next stop (but it can wait 'til service time) which will be a couple of months yet.

Thanks again,
