Not sure if this is the right forum for this stuff, but it's kind of virtual photography and you guys are an artistic bunch, so you might appreciate these.
Here are some renders I've been working on recently of my all time favourite car, the Bugatti Type 35. They're not 100% accurate and it's a bit of mish mash of different cars rather than one specific Type 35 (due to various reference material!), but I'm pretty happy with how they've turned out. I modelled the car in Modo, rendered it out in Maya, then did a bit of post production on Photoshop to give a vintage feel to the images.

I'm working on an Alfa 8C 2300 that's in the modelling stage at the moment.

I like them and appreciate the patience that's went into them.
One comment though - I think the situation they're in is a bit of a mismatch. What I mean is that the studio setting is generally a more upto date setting whilst you're trying to portray through the hairs and cracks to be an older setting. Can't really be both.

Looks Great, I have been learning Modo recently and I love it.
Moving away from 3DS Max(which I have been sick of for ages) and making a Switch to Modo + Houdini.
Reminds me I really need to work on getting my modelling up to scratch again, been concentrating on Dynamics/animation for too long.

Interesting comments re the background, I did wonder about the studio type scene. When I've got the Alfa too, maybe I'll comp them into an old barn scene or something.
Mole, Modo is an amazing tool for modelling, I've found it so much more intuitive and faster to use than any other package. There are some really useful scripts here that make it even better too! I particularly recomend the pipe tool, it saved me so much time doing the wiring for the bodywork on the Bugatti.

Ah those scripts do look handy, yeah from the moment I tried Modo I was amazed at how intuitive it was. Ive been using Max for about 5-6 years and steadily getting bored/frustrated with it, so Modo is pretty refreshing.Mole, Modo is an amazing tool for modelling, I've found it so much more intuitive and faster to use than any other package. Currently working on redoing my Portfolio (as mine is pretty outdated and a bit rubbish) as I am job hunting and pretty much all of the modelling will be done in Modo.
