Can you get the Nordeschleife on the Sony PSP?

As it says really guys. I'm off to the Nurburgring over Easter weekend in my track car and really need to swat up over the next 7 weeks. Last year (my first time was hard to enjoy because my knowledge of the circuit...or lack of!

I don't have time to use a console at home but am looking to use my train commute to London every day to get some laps in and familiarise myself with the circuit. My little Sister has a PSP she doesn't use so seems like an opportunity not to miss.

If anyone can shed any light on the which games have the 'Ring on them that would be ace. Possibly looking more for an arcade style as opposed to Gran Tourismo so I haven't got o waste time earning credits to unlock track etc.

I, and many others, have used sims/games to help learn the track before going to the 'Ring....but...

in an unusual fit of responsibility I feel the urge to point out that nothing is like being there. It all helps, but there's nothing like the actual place.

And it *is* dangerous. Don't not respect it even for a second.

But, have fun! Wish I was going back this easter...

Yep totally agree with you on that. I realise that you can't put game laps down as experience as there are so many factors that affect every moment on track but I felt really held back by just not knowing what corners were coming up. I have been doing several trackdays a year for the last 10 years in the UK and you get a feel for a track after your first session or so. Out there it is just so vast!

If I know that over a crest there is a left or right bend coming up then I will be safer as I can be in the right position when it comes. It's the not knowing that really kept me on edge so am keen to build upon this.

I agree it does help - for what its worth I've been club racing in the UK for the last couple of years and have used iRacing and rFactor to learn tracks before going to them for testing/racing (and for track days).

It really does work - but having said that I have also found 2-3 real-life laps is roughly equivilent to having spent 2-3 hours driving in a sim. Somehow corner and line knowledge absorbs much quicker for me in RL than in a game. (strangely I don't find this as obvious as it now seems when writing it down).

I believe you can also download videos onto the PSP - its worth googling for (full lap!) videos of the ring.

Edit: Oh, if you do have time to use a console, and if you have a PS3, the version of the ring in Gran Turismo 5 really is pretty good.

Is it really that narrow? Some parts of the Ring on PS3 are like walking a tightrope...

Going down the hill after Aremberg is mental, it feels narrower than a country lane when you're going over 100.
