I want to adjust the image below but cannot work out how to do it.

What I want is to recolour all the indiviual sections, so make the yellow bit green and then the red bit orange and so on.
Problem is when I use the fill tool it will not completley change the colour for the relevant section
Anyone know if there is a way to fix this so that I can use the fill to make each section change colour perfectly?

zoom in. then zoom in again. then zoom in some more.
use the magic wand, you'll have to muck about a bit to get it to the right tolerance. when you have the right bits selected (you can multiple select by holding down shift then adding bits) i tend to use the marquee in a new layer, to give you more room to readjust. you can then use edit-fill, paintbucket or similar. it may come out a bit lumpy but as a short way to do it that's possibly one of the easiest options.

Is this the actual file you're working with? If so then the issue is that it is too small and has already been compressed (you can see the jpg artefacts) so when photoshop tries to select an area it struggles because the edges are not clearly defined.
You really need to get a larger (i.e. more pixels) version of the image to do any kind of decent job.

spot on. if it looks ok close up on a big image, it'll look dead tidy zoomed out/shrunk.You really need to get a larger (i.e. more pixels) version of the image to do any kind of decent job.

I've had a quick go, see if this is any better. If you have access to web / ftp, you can email me and I could send you a layered PSD version with the colours separated if that helps. Not sure if I can send you a version over via PH?I doubt i can the original larger file

Sorry, just a footnote, I left the colours as original as you can adjust the exact tints to suit.
Just make sure you have permission to reproduce it first though.

Increased the res & image size in Photoshop, pathed out the colours and re filled separate layers to match the orig. It could be done better in Illustrator as a vector but I'm a bit less familiar with that. You'll see the raw file at the bottom if it opens in your software.

OK here is one to test you.
Lets say I want to paint the image of the rose but say I want to paint in specific colours - like the colours of the union jack. So effectivley I want the Union jack but cut out in the shape of that rose. Obviously the scale of the flag would have to be small so its almost all contained within the image of the rose. (so basically if I took a piece of paper with the union jack on it and I cut out the shape of the rose, thats what I want the computer version to look like)
It might look gash but be interesting to see what it looks like.
No idea how one would do this though.
