More lens advice

My girlfriend has won a holiday to a private island in the seychelles. So as I'm probably new going to go there again in my life I wanna make the most of it. Would like sugestions on what lens would be best to capture the sights. I have a Sony a390 with 18-70mm kit lens. It could be 80 but I'm pretty sure of the top of my head it's 70.
I had this issue when planning a NZ trip. I decided that 18mm was wide enough for most things, and that if I needed wider, Id take two images and stitch them together.
In the event the 18-70mm did 90% of the work (10% 70-300mm) and I did a couple of panoramas at about 50mm to reduce distortion and therefore aid stitching. So I really didn't need a 10-20 after all. For landscapes you get more in but they make everything smaller; not always what you want.
