S1 front tyres

Going to pop into my local Merityre shop later today as front very old. Apart from fitting a decent brand, any defo recommendations/avoids?

I have had Toyo T1-R's on mine - really pleased with them.
Got them from http://www.event-tyres.co.uk they come to you which was really handy when the car was in bits!

I anguished over cost vs performance and settled on Continentals Premium Contact 2's (a direct replacement)

How about adding your car to the S Series Owners List Wiki Dave ? I dont see you on there ...

Another vote for Toyo's.

What size are you going for ?

Personnally I'd stick with the original 60 profile, anything slimmer looks a bit "lost" in the wheel arches, imho.

Plus going for lower profile can put the exhaust closer to the road

Although it's probably a bit late now I was planning on putting T1-Rs on mine to replace the granite tires I have at the moment!

A note though, T1-Rs only come in 55 profile but I don't think thats too much of a problem really. 3% change in circumference and <1cm lost in ground clearance (I think!)

Think mine are CF-1's ?

I know the difference isn't much but, with the rears in particular looking like they've fell out with the wheelarches anyway, every little bit helps !

If you have adjustable shocks could wind 'em up a bit to sort ground clearance but this would take body even further away from wheels.
