Hmmm, seem to be having a bit of trouble posting pics from the public gallery on fotango. How does everyone else do it?

on fotango, click on "get a link to this picture" post the link in between... [pic] link [/pic] and it should come up, if in doubt, click quote on someones post who has a picture on their post and see how they do it.

I can't see this, can only see "Email this picture to a friend".

I tried the [pic] link [/pic] earlier by getting the photo's URL address off of the properties by right clicking and cutting and pasting the URL.

Test:

Does this work or can I only see it 'cos the pic is cached?

Thanks, I didn't think so as when I refresh the page it disappears.

Ok, so I added my pics to the fotango public gallery here:

http://photos.fotango.com/cgi-bin/public_gallery.cgi?category=343&key=

I drill down into the pic but it only offers me the option to email, not use as a link, how come?

Yours, confused...

Nope, very odd. I just don't get the "get a link to this picture" you described when I'm using Fotango. Just the "email this to a friend" option.

What am I doing wrong/differently???

Cheers,

Chris

You have clicked on the photo first, correct?

I just went to my account. Click on the photo you want (ie you should be looking at something larger than the thumbnail). Then it gives you a number of options, including "get a link to this image".

had real issues with fotango last night..

Got a few photo's hosted, without problems..
Tried to add a couple more photo's for the black wheel thread, but nothing. Got someone else to try hosting same photo's, still same problems, thought fotango just didn't like the photo of my car.

Try www.webshots.com instead - allows you to host full size pics.

I can also confirm that the last few pics I have posted from Fotango havent worked.

Sounds like they are having problems.

Right, so might not just be me then!

Although I still don't get that full list of options you describe GT5s. I am a signed up member but only get the option to email it.

I'll go check my settings.

Cheers,

Chris

Chris, make sure you click on the actual phot when selecting it form an album. If you select the checkbox or name then you get a different set of ptions come up.

When clicking photo you will get the "Show me link to this picture" option.

I'm trying to link these pics from the public gallery, not my personal as I thought that this would give people access to my account and all other photo's. Can you not link from the public galleries?

----

Ok, I trust you lot not to go rampaging through my rather dull albums if the above is true so lets try it from the personal albums...
