Garage Flooring
Discussion
Working on my S in the garage near Scottish coast is freezing.
I have plasterboarded the roof, sealed the door and now have some seals ordered for the garage door. I just wondered if any of you have done anything with the garage floor?
Mine is concrete and and very cold. The reason I am asking and not just buying the standard 4-7mm interlocking flooring is that I assume that a trolley jack would destroy these mats.
I considered just laying chipboard sheets down and securing them to the concrete, then if I need to use the jack I would need to rest it on sheet steel.

I have a fully fitted carpet in my garage, I used to sell carpets many years ago and went for contract grade short pile carpet with a "rubber" backing which keeps damp out and makes it a pleasant place to be, it wasn't that expensive at about £6 sq m, although that was a few years ago.
cheers.....Tony..

I think you missed the smiley and the irony of my reply given your website link in your profile. Storage hetaters are not expensive to run if you wire them into the street lights and before you send anyone round we have no street lights, or gas for that matter
I do not cover anywhere near your area - I was simply offering advice!I used dynotile - now, it's not cheap, but it's a brilliant result. Insulating, comfortable to lie on, resistant to oil, etc., reduces noise when walking, good to look at, and I have jacked on it and used ramps with nothing more than a bit of surface marking.
For my garage (single and a half) it would have been about £600, but they were selling some ex-display stuff (slightly dusty!) for £300.
