Dogs eating cat pooh
Discussion
Our lab does this all the time, performs the ultimate recycling trick by munching down his own as well
Mostly it gets picked up as one of us goes out with him, but if he toddles off round the garden on his own, or pops out just after food and comes back in licking his lips... it'd be a fair bet what he's just done. Don't even get me started on what happens when he discovers, say.... a field with loads of sheep s
t on it.
Anyway, gone through various ideas of whether he's lacking stomach bacteria (post worming) or some such; or, lovely as he is.... just a dirty s
t munching hound. Came to the conclusion it's the latter.
Tends not to roll in badger/fox s
t which is a plus

The puppy eats not only his own and that of our adult dog but also any form of livestock/farm animal, plus birds, mice, rabbits etc.
I've tried changing food (in case his diet was lacking), giving more exercise/stimulation (in case it was boredom) and teaching no/leave it/drop it when he goes near - which he is excellent with, I just have to make sure I am supervising at all times.
Next step is to try adding pumpkin or pineapple to his bowl as apparently it tastes good the first time round but not the second so should discourage repeated offences... fingers crossed.
