copying to dvd

i have been trying to copy some things to dvd this morning but had no luck the problem is it wont let me send it to the dvd drive (e i think) only drive c, im not sure if this is beacuse the dvd drive doesent work (never used it before) or because i need some software to use the dvd drive. any one got any ideas?

Assuming you have a *recordable* DVD drive, you still need to install some writing software in order to copy files onto it, you can't just use it like normal hard disk storage.

yes it is a recordable drive, know any good software? for download?

and im on a crappy dial up connection so it has to be under 10 mb

Get nero mate, Can't go wrong!, just leave it downloading one night. I managed to download the full version on a 56K modem no problem, well within the 2 hour limit.#

thanks for the replys the problem is i think my computer might be on the way out so want to back everything on to dvd asap. and my internet is slow even by dial up standards.... i have seen this[url]http://download.com.com/3000-2646-10286672.html?tag=lst-0-2 [/url] on download.com but am not sure about it, anyone know anything about it?
