Put one together yesterday and all has gone reasonably well. Able to watch Sky through the PC and use as PVR. DVD's play well and i have access to my MP3's on the server.

Only snag is that my IR blaster (i got an OEM MCE remote from the states) doesn't seem to want to control the skybox so not able to change channels without using 2 remotes.

Anyone got any experience of using a Sky digibox with XP-MCE ?

Don't Sky digiboxes use RF instead of IR?

dont think so, as the Sky Remote Extenders are IR on a Rope.

There are compatibility problems with some IR equipment and Sky/Cable Boxes. have a look on AV forums for the solution.

Some Sky/Cable boxes dont use the industrial stadard IRDA trasmition protocal and hence this may be the problem.

Steve

PS

IMPORTANT NOTE only for UK Digital Cable viewers: Some cable boxes use non industry standard infra-red signals called IrDa. Pronto and other learning remotes cannot send these signals. Please refer to the following compatibility chart.
