5.1 surround sound

'May' have a few hundred quid in a few months and a mad idea...

If i bought a 5.1 amp now, do most have the ability to run as just a stereo system...

In other words, could i buy an amp first, then upgrade to more speakers and sub as funds allow?

Yep have the option to run 2 channel stereo only.

2 Channel Quality is down to how much you sepend to be honest.

What one have you got in mind, as im in the trade so can get you a good deal

Hell yeah! I bought a Marantz SR4200 reciever a couple of years ago and still haven't got round to getting the full compliment of speakers.

Still sounds pretty good without a centre, although this is a little more important than getting a sub IMHO.

I can't start looking yet as its exams time but as long as i get the summer job i'm looking at then i should be quids in.

How long is your summer Rico?

Summer's about 3 months but this is a way of spending maybe 25% tops of my earnings... rest has to go towards tuition fees and accomodation for my final year...
