I ordered a 30x20 of one of my pictures last week and thought the quality was excellent and it came in 2 days. Going to order another 4 today.

Saw this email earlier, think I'm going to get a few done as well! What resolution files did you use / what was the quality like at 20x30 as I'm worried with only ~5mega pixels from my D50 even the sharp pictures will start to suffer at that size?

D50 is 6Mp (rouhgly 3000 x 2000px) so you'll have 100px per inch. If your original image is good it will be OK. Remember you don't normally view a poster from as close as a 6x4 print.

Good point, will get one of my better efforts printed and see what it comes out like!

I uploaded a cropped 4080 x 2826 jpg, file size was about 8mb. I also downloaded the icc colour profiles for their printer and embedded them in the image. Not really necessary, but I wanted to make sure the print came out exactly how I wanted it.

The quality I thought was excellent, nice rich colours, good blacks. Mounted it in an IKEA frame and hung it in my office. Need to order another one because a random punter offered me £95 for it.

Do IKEA do 30 x 20 frames? The only ready made frames i have seen are the metric 'equivalent', which means slicing about half inch off the side of the print to fit.

I sell photobox framed 30 x 20s - but I do get the frames made to order. Never found a 'decent' 30x20 to buy ready made. (...to get delivered!)

I used a black RIBBA frame,

Width: 72 cm
Height: 102 cm

Passepartout inside meas. W: 49 cm
Passepartout inside meas. H: 69 cm

A 30 x 20 comes in at about c.76 x 51 cm

Your right TM it does mean slicing off the edge off the photo, however I factored this into the crop. I also swapped the perspex for glass from my local glazier.

Agreed with GC the quality is probably not what you would expect if you were buying a image from a seasoned pro like him, however for brightening up my office and home they are fine. Like anything in life you get what you pay for. For me the fact that someone even wanted to buy my picture made my day.
